The Wabi Center for Youth Development

Supporting people & programs doing exceptional hands-on, mentorship-focused youth development work.

Invest in Our Work

Support the Wabi Center Directly

The Wabi Center's core work is operational and infrastructural: we create and curate resources, offer consulting, and provide the administrative and financial backbone that lets our sponsored programs stay focused on their work with young people. That means legal and accounting overhead, technology and communications, program development, and the coordination that keeps everything running well.

None of that is glamorous. All of it is necessary. And without it, the programs we support would be spending their energy on paperwork instead of kids.

If you believe in building the infrastructure that makes excellent youth development work possible — and doing it with real rigor instead of nonprofit theater — this is where your investment goes.

Invest in a Sponsored Program

Our fiscally sponsored programs are where most of the real work happens. If one of these programs resonates with you more directly, you can support them right where they operate.

Each program below handles its own giving. Your contributions directly support that program's work, under the Wabi Center's 501(c)(3) umbrella.

Westside Robotics

Since 1999, Westside Robotics has been putting West Lafayette students to work on real engineering problems through FIRST Robotics. This is where the Wabi Center's roots are, and the program continues to be a flagship example of what serious experiential youth development looks like.

General Fund
Your investment in the general fund supports everything that keeps our program running, from registering teams to buying parts to paying for travel to competitions.

Coaches & Mentors
Our 180+ students need a lot of support to do the work they do, and that means we always need more coaches and mentors to help guide them through the process. No experience with robotics or engineering is necessary, although it is helpful. Being able to commit to a season of work with a team and work well with kids is the most important thing.

Bedrock Computing Institute

Bedrock Computing Institute is focused on building real technology competency in young people — not for Silicon Valley, but for Main Street. The goal is communities that deeply understand technology and can use these tools to solve their own problems.

General Fund
Your investment in the general fund supports everything that keeps Bedrock running, from curriculum development to workshop materials to staff time.

Invest in our work
Hardware Fund
Bedrock's work is all about giving young people hands-on experience with technology, and that means we always have a need for more hardware. Your investment in the hardware fund, either cash or in-kind donations, goes directly to supporting our workshops & programs.

Sponsor a Program

If your organization is interested in a more structured sponsorship relationship — naming rights, formal recognition, or a deeper partnership — let's talk. We work with sponsors who are genuinely aligned with what we're doing, not just looking to slap a logo somewhere.

Bring Us In

Our consulting work is another way to put resources directly into the ecosystem. If your organization is doing youth development work and could use serious, experienced help, we'd rather work with you than just take a check.
